i find Liz and Jeremy to be indescribable beings. anyone who knows them would agree they are living legends. so i will simply offer pieces & hopefully you can get at least the smallest sense of their originality, humor, and heart.
how cute is this? she re-fashioned the headband i made her into a belt. i feel a new Tend trend dawning.
what’s a rocker wedding without a collective hail satan? Officiant “Dudest Priest” wore a Monk’s cloak. perhaps now you can understand why i was inspired to adorn the florals with horns (50 year old, naturally shed of course!)
the Bride was sportin’ a very broken collar bone, how tough is that? tough enough that her mom made her a gold-tassled sling with a Slayer patch for the reception (please someone send me a photo). Liz is also as sweet as they come. I find her both mystical and magical.
just days before the wedding I commented on how cool it would be to have some wooden troughs in addition to all of the vintage silver & glass Liz collected and poof, darling Jeremy busts a dozen of these lovelies out. he has mad skills like that.
Rimrock Ranch Proprietor and hands down the coolest guy ever, Jim Austin. Being around Jim and his labor of love getaway is like coming home.
Liz is the ultimate thrift store scout. she collected an entire spare room of little treasures for this event, even Native American blankets for late night bonfire lounging, vintage guitar shaped Avon bottles, and massive antler racks. these succulents were a year’s worth of Tend “rejects” that she lovingly brought back to life.
florals by Tend. wedding coordination by Francine Ribeau Events. photography by Scott Caligure. Rimrock Ranch, Pioneertown CA. Congratulations Jeremy and Liz, may you rock your marriage as hard as you do the rest of life!!
i can’t say enough about how much i loved designing florals for this condor’s nest ranch wedding. the bride thought of every detail, from painted prop furniture to handmade bunting and table flags to the couture flower girl fashion, and so much more. i suggested cigar boxes for this vintage farm setting and voila, she finds me 40 just like that.

the color palette was a dreamy mix of apricot and creme with shades of blush and curry yellow. this season fully solidified my complete obsession with dahlias and garden roses. no longer will i base on roses as too predictable, it’s just a matter of finding the amazing ones.
next time i’m making flower halos for the farm animals in attendance. congratulations Andi and AJ!!! Pro pix soon to come. florals by Tend, event coordination by Francine Ribeau Events.
another Tend-er wedding, this time at the sweet Pearl Hotel in Pt. Loma. seasonal local flowers in hues of cool blues, pale greens, soft whites, and a hit of dramatic black were the heart of this eco-mod palette.
this boutique hotel is a San Diego favorite, lovingly reconceptualized from a run-down 50′s motel to a organic-modern oasis by the fabulous Michael Soriano of Onario Design. photography by Scott Caligure. Congratulations Katie and Mark!
this past June i had the honor and privilege of participating in a Battle of the Buds between 14 premier San Diego florists for the local launch of Wish Upon a Wedding, a non-profit group bringing dream weddings to people facing life-threatening or life-altering circumstances. how cool is that? the competition was fierce in our efforts to raise money for this fantastic cause. i entered a living “tide pool” table runner constructed of succulents, air plants, cholla wood and black lava (our beloved Hitched piece, re-upped). low and behold, i won the battle. !!! stay tuned for a special Tend feature in the next Ceremony Magazine. thank you for your votes and for reconfirming that sustainable design has a rightful place in the wedding world!
check out our feature on Green Wedding Shoes today! thanks again to Francine Ribeau Events, Tangerine Tree Photography, Morgan Gates Makeup, Chris Wojak, Rad Summer vintage, Jason Xavier Lane, models Jason St. John & Alejandra Acosta, and Scott Caligure! Florals and props by Tend, Golly Pods by JXL Studios and Tend.
Just in from Yellow Photography, our dreamy Torrey Pines shoot styled by Athena (Dear Cora) and John Dole. Florals by yours truly, dress by Carla Manuel of Kites Design, and modeling by the stunning Barbara Rourke of Bells & Whistles & the so very lovely Shane Farmer.
I met the talented, hilarious and gold-hearted John and Athena through Barbara (eternally grateful am I), who also introduced me to the gorgeous and full-of-life Carla (who subsequently made my wedding dress), and let me tell ya…we have too much love and magic between us to keep it to ourselves so hire this dream team before we combust from all this goodness.
Hot off the press from the ever-talented and generous Brandon & Kristin Kidd! How magical are these?! Very smart is the couple who hires this dynamic duo to capture their special day. (Living guest book diorama by Cactus & Quail and Tend, Living Tablescape by Sugar & Fluff and Tend)
There was so much talent at this event it hurt my brain and can’t be done justice here. So make sure to check out http://www.100layercake.com/blog for extended coverage.
