this fun Balboa Park wedding was a fantastic opportunity for me to put my budding wedding chops to the test. not three, not four, but FIVE colors made up the palette of this Mexican/Old San Diego styled affair, a bit of a wedding design risk if you stick to tradition but hey i guess that’s why they picked me (i don’t)! to top it off, these hues are fairly tough to come by in the way of succulents: bright & muted turquoise, yellow, white, and bright red. light-hearted but elegant was my mission. also, we wanted a super lush & lively succulent tablescape rather than static-ly potted pieces. which meant some serious mechanical magic. i hope you dig the result!
locally grown succulents, freesia, billy balls, calla lilies, peonies, ranunculus, & dahlias comprised the sustainable floral menu. wedding coordination by the fabulous Francine Ribeau, who managed this 12 hour party as a one-armed broken-wristed bandit (as if i wasn’t already in awe of her mad coordinating finesse), assistance by Kiyoko Ando & Noriko Mochida, and pix by Good Nickles Photography (so good to meet you guys!). big Congrats to Nick & Alana!!!
