air plant happiness

This past weekend Tend had the smashing pleasure of designing a green wedding for the SUPREMELY cool and fun-loving Morgan Romine and Joseph Dodson (people pix coming up!). These lovelies chose the gorgeous sea-side Scripp’s Forum as their location and were committed to sustainable floral that could live happily ever after, like their love. They also wanted rustic and organic but elegant. Score! Color palette: Eggplant and its analogous hues.

Wanting to nod to the ocean setting while not being literal or cliched (shells & nautical anchors not so much), we decided the sea creature-esque tillandsia air plants were the perfect botanical for the occasion. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the results nor more thankful for the opportunity to work with such easy-going and enthusiastic folks. Thanks to them and their SUPERTASTIC coordinator, Rebecca Gaffney of Red Letter Days Events, the entire process was smooth as silk and a blast to boot.  Special thanks to my rock star assistants Kiyoko Ando & Stephanie Chaban and photographer-hubs-extraordinaire (who has outdone himself ONCE AGAIN) Scott Caligure. Also to Kendra at Rainforest Flora who tirelessly & joyfully collected all these tilly beauties for me. A group effort indeed.

Love & Congrats to Morgan & Joseph!!! More after the jump.
